Nobody is saying the Nets are going to overtake the Knicks in NY....that's not even possible.
But it's good to have another team taking attention in NY. And since there isn't really any NY/NJ rivalry in the NBA, it's not really a bad thing for fans either.
Maybe it WILL spark a rivalry should the Nets land D-Howard. Never know. that could be cool actually.
I just enjoy making Matt insane, LOL
If the Nets had a decent fanbase there would be SOME-SORT of rivalry, hell the Rangers have rivalries with the Devils and Isles no matter how terrible they may be, I dont see why the Knicks couldnt have a nice rivalry with the Nets
Islanders have one of the worst fanbases (by your ownstandards of sellout %)
Until they become the new Hartford Whalers.
in which people would care even less

You are going straight to hell for that comment.
thats not even going to make the resume for my ticket to hell

yea but the fact remains that NBA has 4 more NBA franchises, bigger stadiums, and bigger crowds
/end game
4 more Franchises that cant sellout, bigger arenas that are empty and bigger crowds that arent filling the seats
they average more people per game and only ONE NHL team sells out every night, while two NBA teams sell out every night on average regardless of where they play.
More people cause there's more seats
More NHL teams can support strong home fanbases while NBA teams have better road followings
wouldnt this suggest that there are clearly MORE fans of MORE teams than anything the nhl can claim?
Look at someone like Lando. He lives in a small market, but is a fan of teams that play nowhere near him, in NY and LA.
Not if u take out the Canadian franchises

Re: THEE NYG SWAG THREAD
just paid for my Vegas trip.
$670 for flight, and 4 nights/5 days in Mandalay Bay resort/casino.
my friends are desperately trying to make do the exotic car racing....its like $400 to drive 5 laps around a legit track in a Ferrari 458...which is like my dream car. but that's a pretty steep price =\
Idk...maybe i'll do it.
I rather just drop a few hundred and get a baller *** car for the entire time im there.
This sure is a big change from the guy who didn't know if he would have money to go to a Giants game months in advance. Have fun man. Vegas is awesome.

your the Rex Ryan of this debate
a little success and you think Hockey is nationally accepted
and you avoid all the truths and just try to hang on a minor jaded fact which really doesn't represent the debate at all, but still think u win because of it...
much like Rex Ryan thought he ran NY because his team lost in the AFCC twice...

Is that Berrian? I think he’s triple-covered. You know what? **** it. I’m throwing it downfield.

Yeah, I see Jones open on the flank. But **** that. Dumpoff passes are for ***gots. I’m ****ing Sexy Rexy Grossman. I can get that ball in there. And, even if I can’t, I bet I’ll be able to pull it off the next go round. I like throwing the ball long. It makes my **** hard.

What’s that? I should throw a quick slant? **** that. That’s gay. Button hook? Gay. Flare out? Gay. Screen pass? Kevin Spacey gay. This is ****ing football. You can’t just expect wins to come to you. You can’t massage that ****. You gotta grab that game by the throat and rape the ever-loving **** out of it. You think a 5-yard out is gonna win you a game? You’re a *****. This ain’t John Shoop running this offense. Sexy Rexy’s got the arm. The dragon. You gotta unleash the dragon.

Okay, I’m throwing it. Nice. Look how far it went. I look good. I bet I made that Pats cheerleader wet her panties with that throw. She ****ing wants me. I bet she likes it over a stair railing. I can hit that with 100% accuracy, my dear. Mmmmmm. I am delicious.

Oh ****. Looks like Samuel caught it. Again. Oh well. It still felt ****ing great to throw that ****. Tell me that wasn’t one of the prettiest passes you ever saw. You know what? Not only am I gonna throw it long the next time we hit the field. I’m gonna throw it even longer. Harder. You see that kid in wheelchair sitting in the end zone bleachers? I’m gonna nail him right between the ****ing eyes with a Sexy Rexy fastball. Why? Because I can.

This is Rex Grossman we’re talking about here. We’re talking 210 lbs. of twisted steel and sex appeal. I’m not just a gunslinger. I’m a cumslinger. Throwing that ball long tells all the Rexettes that I am ****ing out there. On the edge. Where I gotta be. The ladies love the danger. The unpredictability. Oh, maybe I’ll tease them with a pretty touch pass every now and again. But then I’m gonna go right back to pumping that ball out for all it’s worth. It tells them I throw like I ****. That’s how we do things in the sexy business.

Tell me you’re not turned on right now. I am
The NHL would still have more teams (Chicago, Philthy, SJ, DC, STL, Boston, Pittsburgh) compared to the NBA (Dallas, Chicago, Portland, Orlando, Miami, Boston)
The NHL also has 4 teams that sellout 99% of their games compared to the NBAs 3
