Avengers was insanely awesome. Probably my favorite super-hero flick besides Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

As for Star Wars vs. LOTR, they're such different types of movies its tough to compare. I will say I thoroughly enjoyed the LOTR movies. But Star Wars is classic, and the characters are iconic.
