    Elsen's Mailbag: Robinson's Development

"Today’s edition of The Mailbag on Giants.com:

Last year after the draft, TE Adrien Robinsonhttp://www.giants.com/assets/nflimg/...ticle-link.gif was called “the JPP of tight ends.” How has his development gone? Are his physical talents translating to improved performance? What do you see him contributing to the Giants this coming season?
    -Eli

No, this question is not from Eli Manninghttp://www.giants.com/assets/nflimg/...ticle-link.gif. Frankly, it’s a little difficult to gauge Robinson’s progress. Because he was completing his academic requirements at Cincinnati last spring he did not participate in most of the offseason camps and programs. That put Robinson behind the other tight ends and rookies when he reported to training camp. He was inactive for all but two regular-season games and his playing time was limited to special teams. But Robinson said the work he received in practice every day set him up to be a productive player in the future. Jerry Reese said after the season the Giants “still have high hopes” for Robinson. I do think he can contribute to the Giants in 2013, and he might have to if Martellus Bennetthttp://www.giants.com/assets/nflimg/...ticle-link.gif, who is a free agent, isn’t re-signed.

I prefer to refer to him as "Air" drien Robinson. I'm awaiting for Nike to craft a shoe with a silhouette of his wingspan on it.

Yes I'm optimistic on his future.

It would sure be nice if he became a contributor this year.

    Cliff notes version:

    Has Adrien Robinson improved?

Eisen: Maybe... No... I'm not sure.

The guy can move. Would be really interesting to see him out there with Nicks, Randle, Cruz, and Wilson.

I would love to see him get a chance to show what he can do.

I see him as a TE2, a blocking TE.. I don't have alot of faith.. hope I'm wrong

Pope can develop just about any TE into a weapon in NY. Ballard, Boss; I'm sure Robinson will out perform them both.
