    Blackburn to hit the Market

No deal with the Giants, so Chase Blackburn will hit the market:
Despite talks with the team at the Combine last month, the starting middle linebacker seems ready to hit free agency.

“There is no understanding with the Giants,” Blackburn’s agent, Richard Katz, told Newsday on Wednesday. “It appears he’ll hit the open market on the 12th.”

Blackburn has done this before and other teams haven't shown much interest so I figure he will find his way back home but does this worry you?

Thats true Reese has the leverage but it just seems we have no CAP space to sign anyone and replace them. We have 6 million in dead money after all the releases. I don't think financially the Giants are in great shape,

No, chase is easily replaceable. Great guy, but his skill set is easily replaced if not improved upoun. Reese has a plan for LB this year, clearly it doesn't involve chase.. and that in the grand scheme of things is a good thing, or reese is just waiting to get him cheap again.. either way we're not losing out on to much.

Well Tom Rock seems to think we will go after Ray Mauleuga from the Bengals.

He may well be back at vet minimum. Nothing gives a team a bigger advantage than no other team wants the player.

No one is going to pay him more than the Giants. He's got great heart and is a smart guy......but he's good, not great.....and that's in the GIANTS system. It would take him longer to adapt than say a more gifted althlete. Chase's value is his brain.

Lets face the fact here. Chase is aging, he is not the fastest guy, and his ability is limited to a 4-3 setup. No team is going to take him when they can have a younger version of the same player who has potential of improving over the next few years.
Chase will be back when his agent puts aside this fantasy that Chase is a starting MLB in this league.
