Tony Pauline of Sports Illustrated reports that if Scott were to hit the open market, Big Blue
would immediately be in hot pursuit.</p>

"Word from the combine: if the Jets cut <a class="st_tag internal_tag" title="Posts tagged with Bart Scott" href="http://www.giants101.com/tag/bart-scott/" rel="tag nofollow">Bart
Scott</a> he could end up changing locker rooms and playing for the Giants,"

Let the wild rumors of the NFL offseason commence!</p>
With a guaranteed $4.2 million salary, the chances the Jets release Scott are
slim to none. However, in the event that the 31-year-old is cut loose, the
Giants are known to "investigate everything" and may still need a starting
middle linebacker depending on what they decide to do with Chase Blackburn (UFA)
and Jonathan Goff (UFA), who is recovering from a torn ACL.</p>
From a personality standpoint, Scott doesn't exactly seem like a fit for the
Giants. He's known to be a little off-the-wall at times, having gone as far as
to flip off the media (among other things). That said, he is a high motor guy
who still has some gas left in the tank and could potentially bring value to the
middle linebacker spot.</p>
Scott had elbow surgery earlier this month, but the procedure was said to be minor."</p>
