GIANTS A LIKELY DESTINATION FOR BART SCOTT IF RELEASED BY JETS

Jets</a> ultimately decide to release linebacker <a class="st_tag internal_tag" title="Posts tagged with Bart Scott" href="http://www.giants101.com/tag/bart-scott/" rel="tag nofollow">Bart
Scott</a>, it's possible the longest trip he'll have to make is right down the
hall into the <a class="st_tag internal_tag" title="Posts tagged with New York Giants" href="http://www.giants101.com/tag/new-york-giants/" rel="tag nofollow">New York
Giants</a> locker room.

Tony Pauline of Sports Illustrated reports that if Scott were to hit the open market, Big Blue
would immediately be in hot pursuit.</p>
<blockquote>

"Word from the combine: if the Jets cut <a class="st_tag internal_tag" title="Posts tagged with Bart Scott" href="http://www.giants101.com/tag/bart-scott/" rel="tag nofollow">Bart
Scott</a> he could end up changing locker rooms and playing for the Giants,"
Pauline tweeted.</p></blockquote>

Let the wild rumors of the NFL offseason commence!</p>

With a guaranteed $4.2 million salary, the chances the Jets release Scott are
slim to none. However, in the event that the 31-year-old is cut loose, the
Giants are known to "investigate everything" and may still need a starting
middle linebacker depending on what they decide to do with Chase Blackburn (UFA)
and Jonathan Goff (UFA), who is recovering from a torn ACL.</p>

From a personality standpoint, Scott doesn't exactly seem like a fit for the
Giants. He's known to be a little off-the-wall at times, having gone as far as
to flip off the media (among other things). That said, he is a high motor guy
who still has some gas left in the tank and could potentially bring value to the
middle linebacker spot.</p>

Scott had elbow surgery earlier this month, but the procedure was said to be minor."</p>

I don't know how I'd feel about that. How good is he even, anymore? I kinda had the impression that he was starting to go downhill (but that may still qualify him as being better than CB or Goff).</P>

Also, as mentioned, he's always struck me as a loudmouth jackass, but much of that could be fueled by Rex (not caused, just amplified). Maybe he'd be a little more reserved here taking on some of TC's persona?</P>

Still... Just don't know what to think of that.</P>
I'm not buying into this....
kind of soundslike the article regarding the Giants being interested in Abraham from the Falcons? I know Goff is coming off surgery, but Scott is not that much better vs the run.
