JERRY JONES WOULD RATHER HAVE ROMO THAN LUCK OR GRIFFIN
"If your favorite team could have its pick of Tony Romo, Andrew Luck or
<a class="nameLink" href="http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/7406/robert-griffin-iii">Robert
Griffin III</a>, who would you want? To Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, that’s an
easy one.
According to the Cowboys’ official website, <a href="http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/news.cfm?id=C5B82785-9C74-E68B-D266FF977A2068CD">Jones
explicitly said he wouldn’t trade Romo for Griffin or Luck</a>.</p>
Some might see that as further evidence of <a href="http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/02/03/jerry-jones-says-he-has-had-50-concussions/">Jones’s
50 concussions</a>, but Jones’s son, Cowboys V.P. Stephen Jones, agrees with his
dad. Stephen Jones told the Star-Telegram he sees Romo being the
Cowboys’ franchise quarterback for years to come, and there’s no way he’d take
Luck or Griffin as the franchise quarterback over Romo.</p>
“<a href="http://www.star-telegram.com/2012/02/28/3771006/cowboys-believe-in-romo-and-the.html#storylink=cpy">There
are not many better than him out there</a>,” Stephen Jones said. “I hear it — he
hasn’t gotten it done yet. I hear it, all of that. But you are not going to find
much better than Tony Romo. Every year he improves. As he gets better, our
chances get better.”</p>
Of course, the Cowboys aren’t in a position where they actually have to make
that decision (unless Jim Irsay has offered Jones the first overall pick in the
NFL draft in exchange for Romo, which somehow I doubt has happened). But if a
team did have that choice to make, what would be the right move? We’ll let PFT
Planet weigh in."</p>
