"We are not sure what is going on right
now" Manningham said, via
ESPN New York. "We are going to take it slow and see what is going on and
let the smoke clear a little bit, you know the combine and free agency and
everything coming up. Just never know where I am going to end up at."
The Youngstown (Ohio) Vindicator reported last week that Manningham said he's
"75 percent" certain he won't
be back in New York, and sources recently told CBSSports.com that Manningham
could be following former Giants assistant Mike Sullivan to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where
he was hired as offensive coordinator.
"That is just (rumor)," said Manningham, who's scheduled to become an
unrestricted free agent March 13. "I haven't said anything like that or I
haven't heard anything like that until the other day. I think everybody is
saying that because our quarterback coach is going to be the offensive
coordinator. People don't really know what is going on, they don't know where I
really want to go."
The Giants have 21 unrestricted free agents on their roster, and general
manager Jerry Reese told the New
York Daily News during the NFL Scouting Combine that he faces some "hard
