1st- WR Stephen Hill- Much like the JPP pick a few years back, Hills athleticism and potential will prove to be too much to pass up. Also provides some insurance should the Giants not be able to afford keeping both Cruz and Nicks down the line.
Alternative- RB Doug Martin- Emmitt Smith says he may be better then trent richardson and reminds him a little of himself....enough said
2nd- G/T Amini Silatolu - One of my favorite prospects in the draft this polynesisan road grader would bring a much needed nasty disposition to the Giants Oline as he never lets up and always looks to finish his blocks. Also possesses a quick first step to not only get out and pull, but also get down field to the next level.
Alternative- OT Bobbie Massie- IMO not as good a prospect as Silatolu, but perhaps would fill a bigger need for the Giants with the ability to be a day 1 starter at right tackle.
3rd- CB Chase Minnifield- Once considered a high 2nd rounder, his stock has begun to drop due to measuring smaller then his listed height while also only putting up 225 7x at the combine. However Minnifield is a proven ball hawk with 13 career INT's and plays much more physical then his measurements would suggest.
4th- DE Jake Bequette- Hgh motor player with great size (6'5" 275), great production (10 sacks in 2011) and under rated athleticism (6.90 in the 3 cone drill only behind Melvin Ingram for Dlineman and 1st in the 20 yard shuttle at 4.07)...Should more then offset the loss of Tollefson
5th- DT Ronnie Cameron- The former CAA defensive player of the year has compiled 145 tackles, 50 TFL's and 16 sacks the past two seasons. The "Haitian Hammer" is scheduled to visit the Giants on April 12th.
6th- RB Davin Meggett- Built like a bowling ball at 5'8" 211 pounds, Meggett is a do it all back with limited wear and tear (never had 200 touches in a season and has never missed a game due to injury). I must admit I'm partial to this pick because his father Dave was a favorite of mine growing up... may I add also a favorite of Parcells as well.
7th- TE Adrien Robinson- Was the star of Cincy's pro day measuring in at 6'4" 264 with a vertical jump of 39.5 and an unofficial 40 time of 4.51. Kevin Weidl of ESPN's scouts inc had this to say on his twitter account, "Studying Cincy TE Adrien Robinson on tape. Think he has a chance to be a steal in this draft. Not used properly at Cincinnati."
