Can Hixon be a Threat for the Giants as a 3 wr?

Sorry if this has been talked about already. Now do any of you guys think that Hixon can do things to help the Giants. He has a history of leg injuries and staying healthy may be against him.

I still like the guy but he may not be the same. I hope he is.

If he still has his speed and quickness, then yes. He can still play the same role MM played and allow Cruz to work the slot in 3WR sets. Only thing he has to do is just make sure he catches the ball when it's thrown to him.

No one know for sure, but with 2 blown out knees, it will be an uphill climb. I don't know why they won't resign Devin Thomas and give him a shot. Then again, maybe they will.

I'm not sure if thats their plan for Hixon. I think they see him more as a #4 WR and a ST specialist.</P>


If he is indeed the #3, they would probably not use him much at all on ST's. I think they believe JJ is the logical next in line for the #3 WR position.</P>

I'm pretty sure it was the same knee both times. They just resigned TT after his second torn ACL. The're no way to predict. Hixon was doing well and re-injured the knee on a circus catch TD. If he is 100%, he can be a threat and that's especially true on ST's as guner and returner

Hixon isn't spectacular as a 3rd WR, but he has shown that he's competent when healthy. And I think that's the big question with him now is whether he's healthy and can still do what he's done in the past.

personally I like the guy but I think his knee gives out. I feel the same way about TT. </P>


2 ACLs with the same knee playing pro football......thats a hard hand to play for those two guys. </P>

Reese re-signed Hixon for a reason... he doesn't just make emotionally-based decisions. There has to have been some sign in the team physical that Hixon still has considerable fight left in him. In Reese We Trust.

I totally disagree with this.

This is a guy who was battling for the #1 spot in 2008 when Plax shot himself.

Hixon would make an EXCELLENT #3 receiver. The question is if he can go from here to there without blowing a knee.

To Morehead's point .. .. I could see the Giants using him as a #4 to try and keep him healthy and being primarily a kick/punt returner (which he excelled at).
