Community Draft Room

First before you read this. 
This is not my original idea it was a great plan by GGTM_1977 to get everyone to collectively map out a solid blueprint for how we as fans would like to see our organization select its future in the upcoming draft. So I want to first thank GGTM_1977 for the idea. I am just merely organizing it in a way that is fun for everyone as well as productive also with ideas inputted from TheEnigma and Kruunch.
1. It will be done by round separately so there is no confusion. So it will have a deadline for the committee to decide on a couple of things before the final decision is made on who would be selected at that round. 
1A. List 3 potential prospects that will be available, at where we select in each round. Also list one prospect that you feel will drop for whatever reason, this extra selection is not mandatory but if that name appears often in a majority then that name will be pooled as a possible pick.
2A. List 3 positions of need in order of most important to least in each round. 
 Example. ( Round 1 : TE / OL/ RB ) 
3A. then out of the 3 -4 prospects you selected choose your pick for that round. List if it’s a need pick or a BPA pick.

2. The deadline will be two days from the start of the round initial start. This can be started by anyone. As long as the previous round is finished, and the majority pick is selected. 
3. If there is a tie then debate as to why your pick makes sense will commence, and a neutral party would have to make the final decision. * A person who’s pick was not a part of the majority.
4. If you want to Trade down then state that and then state who you feel would be best to trade down with and for what picks. Trading down will always be considered if it’s logical and good value to the organization.
( when discussing or debating picks please keep that know it all your wrong cause i'm always right attitude. debate in the form of questions or hard facts. like were actually in a draft room planning out the picks, no bickering just lively debate and opinion backed by facts )





The prospects have to be logical, like a consensus thing based off all the other projected picks by other professional analyst. I mean if you feel someone drops then fine state your cause but no well I think RG3 drops all the way to 32. Lol

I Know we just picked up Bennett, we also have Hopkins & Pascoe, but I feel that at 32 Fleener will be the BPA pick at that spot that also serves as a need, due to the fact that we lost Ballard and Beckum to injuries, and don’t have a projected date as to when they return to full health to contribute. Eli has stepped up to become an elite decision maker with the ball adding another physical threat that can also block and get our running game a spark it needs is more essential to the success of this team to contend for another division title. 




This is NOT! what we think the giants will do in the Draft. this is meant for how we as individuals; Fans in a decision making position would deebate and collectively agree on the outcome of the Draft as we see it. No idea is a stupid one

Round 1. Pick 32

New York Giants trade 1st to St. Louis Rams for their 2nd (Pick 39) and 4th (Pick 97).

I believe that the Browns will select Blackmon at Pick 4, leaving the Rams to take either Claiborne, Richardson, or Reiff. This still leaves the Rams without a decent receiving option. One possibility that could present itself is that Coby Fleener and Stephen Hill both will be available at 32 but they have interest in both prospects. Due to the recent Martellus Bennet signing, selecting a TE might nor occur and since we have no immediate need at WR, we'll likely go mid round there as well. This trade lines us up for the following prospects:

1. Doug Martin (RB) / Stephon Gillmore (CB) / Kendall Reyes (DT)

2. Dropped prospect - Mark Barron (S)

3. Round 2. Pick 39: Tackle / Running Back / Tight End

4. Doug Martin (RB) Need for depth

Outside of Bradshaw, we have no one else to be confident in at this position. Ware? He's just been a warm body for us on the depth chart who can do decent pass blocking. Brown? Former practice squad guy that you can't really rely on to become a star. Scott? He has a case of the fumbles this past season but he has potential. Still, we need better talent regardless. Martin offers the Giants a receiving/screen type of RB who is also powerful between the tackles. The only knacks in his game are not having elite speed and being a bit raw in pass protection. This depends a lot if we end up resigning Jacobs. If we do, I'd select someone else.

I agree but here's my question, whats the break down value of a 32 when going into the second round? are we short changing ourselves with a extra second and a 4th can we get more for a 32 pick?

there is a numerical value for picks right? trading down for more picks is a very good idea and i co sign it, but i would want more than a 2nd and a 4th. is there anyone else out there you think can offer more? or is this the absolute value of a extremely late 1st round pick

This is the Value Chart most people refer to and it actually has us coming out with more value from that trade but honestly, the new CBA makes it hard to determine a clear value. Getting the Rams 39 (2nd from Skins) and 66 (3rd) wouldn't be fair on their end just to move up 7 selections so that's why I went with the 97 (4th). The Rams have the first 4th round selection anyway so it's basically a late 3rd rounder.

2. Dropped. Luke kuechley
3. Tackle, Wr, MLB
4. I would trade down if randle hill still and keuchley(m praying he does drop to us, probably a pipe dream but stranger things have happened)are off the board and nobody with incredible value drops all the way down to us. But I'm pretty sure some one we like will be there.

Cool so out of those four who do you pick if their all still available at 32?
whats your case for Keuchley dropping? i think most boards have the eagles taking him, and while it would pain me for them to get a guy like him its hard to see him available past 20 whats your reasoning?
and if you do decide to move down who do you think we should partner up with and what picks is reasonable.

seems like trading out of the 1st is going to be the majority option here lol

[/quote] he's dropping for the same reason only one MLB has been signed in free agency so far. 4_3 MLB is kinda a dying position in the nfl. Its not a value pick in the first round. I'd pick Stephen hill outta the three if kuechley drops I pick him. If we trade down it should be to a team that has a pass rusher need cause branch will be gone the top of the second like first two picks. Maybe new England they have two seconds maybe this year they move up instead of down.

2) Person dropping to us (that we would actually pick) ... Cordy Glenn (OG)

3) Needs (Rd. 1): OLine (RT specifically), DE (Osi replacement for next year), RB

4) We don't trade down.

I think the signing of Bennet, with having Pascoe and Hopkins and Ballard coming back at some point this year will mitigate our need at TE and push any pick here to later rounds.

Mike Adams' poor showing at the Combine will lower his status in many eyes (including the Giants) and he's already dropped into the second round on many boards. I keep him in my first round list if the Giants feel desperate for a RT come draft.

First round grade DEs will be gone by the time we pick (our #1 desire pick).

That leaves us freed up for a DT (in case Marvin Austin doesn't work out), depth in our seconday or a luxury pick (Stephen Hill, Doug Martin, etc ....). I don't think we go RB in the first round however (we don't historically under Reese) and Stephen Hill doesn't seem like the Giants normal type of pick to me (Combine flash).

I think we either go DT (Kendall Reyes) or add much needed depth to our defensive secondary in Mark Barron (best Safety in the draft). I think Mark Barron will be BPA and available due to injury concerns effecting his draft stock.

Finally on many live mock drafts, Cordy Glenn almost *always* falls past where he's rated. OG just isn't a sexy first round pick and if you're not getting THE best one in the draft, teams will hem and haw on that type of pick. If Cordy Glenn falls to us, we snatch him up for his versatility in being able to flex to the OT position.

Sigh* lmao looks like its probably going to be a trade down of the first.

no one else got ideas? so many couch GM's so little participation.

okay back to business... i will not settle for less than two second rounds or a second and an early 3rd. while it is a late first round pick it is still a first round pick, and there is a value to it.

the eagles signed ryan that might bump Keuchley down like Blu was saying.
i still feel and this is me pleading my case in hopes of changing some minds; that we are not good at TE, are we serviceable maybe but not solid.

Eli was short 5000 by what 73 yards bringing in Fleener would definitely increas that and also increase his TD's by 4-6 and reduce his interceptions. he would be the over the middle security blanket eli needs and or missed when shockey was here minus the prim a-dona antics. Everything we've heard from bennett when he played for the Cowboys was Unmotivated, Lazy, unfocused. these generalizations of his character do not sit well with me.

yeah we got him on the cheap to bring in and hope that the change of environment will do him justice; with his athleticism if hes determined he can be good for years down the line, but thats a 50/50 proposition right now. and look at this, say he does pan out and is an important piece of the machine add fleener and we can execute 2 TE sets with cruz and nicks on the outside. Fleener is a blocker so is bennett so we can also run the ball on either side with them.

Reconsider i implore you lol

but if we do decide on trading down. personally i'm not to thrilled with Theenigma's idea of the Rams 2nd and their early 4th i think were short changing ourselves on this one.

any other suggestions ?
