The Top 9 Ideas to Improve the Super Bowl (Part 2)

9> A little pre-game hype might build public interest a bit.

8> At odd moments, quarterbacks receive ads for tanning cream in
    their helmets.

7> At the end of each quarter, viewers get to vote the most
egregiously useless commentator off the broadcast.

6> Failure to convert on third-and-one results in a repeat
    performance of Roseanne's National Anthem.

5> For each point scored outside the spread, the defeated coach
    loses a finger.

4> To appease PETA, replace the ol' pigskin with that microfiber
    NBA ball.

3> Personal foul? Play the rest of the game with no helmet.

2> Replace pretentious Roman numerals with even-more-pretentious
    Egyptian hieroglyphics.

and the Number 1 Idea to Improve the Super Bowl...

    1> Start drinking on Thursday.
It's unfortunate for Phil Rivers. He's growing on me.
frute,

ya mean u r one of those "darn the trade" ppl?? or is it just he is playing well for another team???
Huh? I got to watch Rivers a few times when he was in college. I've liked him for a while. I just think that people need to get over that trade.
oh ok. Honestly: not thinking bout the trade but just the 2 persons: who would you like to have as our QB? Eli or Philip? since u know both better then i do i'll go with ur judgement!

No positive spin on this from me,I think it's a bad move. I could see if there were a better candidate available, which I doubt there is. Jimmy Johnson ain't coming back, Bill Cowher is out of the mix in 2007 & Marv Levy is in Buffalo's front office.

I'll admit if I had to choose one of them to go between him & AJ, I'd choose Marty but I still think they're screwing up. The GM & Coach don't have to love each other, they just have to be professional & do their jobs and for the past few seasons, they have been co-existing for the good ofg the team and for the most part, it's been working. It makes me wonder if they're now going to hire Ted Cottrell as HC, or someone else like Dennis Green who lives in Del Mar. I also hope this doesn't lead to a player revolt because Marty is loved & respected among the young players veterans alike.

Oddly enough, this is a bit of deja-vu for most Chargers fans. The last time we were this good, there was also conflict between the GM & HC, and it led to Bobby Ross leaving just two seasons after leading the Bolts to their only Superbowl appearance. GM Bobby Bethard had alot of success with both Miami & Washington, and the Chargers were the 3rd team he led to a Superbowl but after some early success, he really started to reach with alot of our draft picks and we paid for it. Back then, Ross should've been the one they kept but this time if you can only keep one, you keep the GM that built this deep & talented team. I think they'll hire a new Head Coach real soon, and prepare for the draft in April & mini-camp in May. I just hope that more assistant coaches don't leave in loyalty to Marty, which is a real possibility.

This was by"The Charger Fan"...Nothing, to really bash him on...I expected him toreact to this, like it's a negative thing...Only because it is...
