A person with knowledge of the talks between the Giants and K Jay Feely told me earlier today that the team decided not to increase its contract offer significantly over its offer from before free agency began, so Feely is headed elsewhere. The Dolphins, Chiefs and Falcons are still in the running for Feely's services.</P>


According to the person, the Giants chose not to spend their money on a kicker -- they will likely head into the season with undrafted rookie free agent Josh Huston and a veteran signed later in the spring for less money than they wanted to pay Feely, who made 84 percent of his field-goal attempts in his two seasons with the Giants.</P>
