No franchise for GW, and now we are getting really thin at safety....

The Giants cut safety Craig Dahl yesterday, ending a nice Cinderella story for the kid from North Dakota State.

Dahl, who signed with the Giants last spring as an undrafted free agent, made the team out of training camp as one of the longest shots on the roster. He played sparingly for most of the year, but was actually forced to start two games in December because of injuries in the Giantsí secondary.

However, he tore his ACL in the first quarter of the Giantsí Week 17 loss to the New England Patriots, and was placed on injured reserve after the game, making him a spectator for the Giantsí Super Bowl run.

Dahl was waived by the Giants after he failed a physical, according to an NFL source.

The Giants also cut center Todd Londot and defensive tackle Dek Bake.

Yeah, I'm not too high on Dahl. He got a ring out of this year, so I'm sure he's no regrets.

I still want a top notch FS with that first pick, but if that deal goes through, you can't complain about our CB situation. A true shut down CB in Hall and a future star in Ross. Not to mention Webster/Madison/Dockery as backups/dime/nickel possibilities.
