dawkins i can see, mcnabb not
McNabb's greatest accomplishment was helping guide a team to 4 straight NFC Championship games and one Superbowl.
I'd say that counts for something. But outside of that, he wasn't an exceptionally great quarterback. Never passed for over 400 yards and his rushing totals really weren't as great as I remembered. He had a good career, but was it hall of fame worthy? I'd say borderline.

Great summation, i concur.
McNuggets= no
Dawkins= yes
NFL Championships : 1927 1934 1938 1956
Super Bowl Champions: XXI XXV XLII XLVI
Is it just me or does it seem like everyone gets in the hall of late.
If Kurt Warner is going he should just leave the door open and let anyone who wants to just walk on in.
---- except Mcnabb
Let me frame this differently. Who would you want as your quarterback in a big game Phil Simms or Donovan McNabb? Phil is still waiting and he was a really good one; tough and clutch which Donovan can't claim.
No one remembers who came in second.
he did it when the nfc east was horrible. Almost a guarantee of 6 wins each year. And more then that he choked in big spots...
I love it when we completely dismiss the accomplishments of players on other teams with irrational arguments. "Of course they went to the Conference Championship game every year, they played in a weak division..."
My problem with McNabb in the Hall is that, at any given time, I always felt like there were at least 3-5 QBs I'd take ahead of him (Warner, Manning, Favre, Green, Bledsoe, Brady, Culpepper). Considering that I'd only put 3 of those guys in (Favre, Manning, Brady) it's hard for me to vote in favor of McNabb.
