NFL DRAFT 2012: GIANTS' POTENTIAL SECOND-ROUND TARGETS

"Sorry for the delay. Been a crazy afternoon with the Mathias
Kiwanuka contract extension
and such.

Real quickly, I'd say look for the Giants to add a wide receiver in the second
round. Remember, this was the range of receivers they were scouting and it's a
need after the loss of Mario Manningham.

There's a chance they could also go tight end here with Clemson's Dwayne
Allen, should he fall to them at the bottom of the round. Allen
came in for a pre-draft visit
.

The wide receivers who could make it to the Giants and would interest them
are: Alshon Jeffery (South Carolina), Mohamed Sanu (Rutgers) and Chris Givens
(Georgia Tech). They sent wide receivers coach Kevin M. Gilbride to Jeffery's
pro day and director of college scouting Marc Ross to Givens' pro day. Sanu
came in for a private workout
.

Elsewhere, I could see the Giants going with a pass rusher if one drops. I
don't see my first-round projection for them - Clemson's Andre Branch - making
it to their pick at No. 63.

And we'll keep an ear out for any developments in the Osi Umenyiora front.
Right now, there's nothing to report.
