Eli is getting his wish after all ...

Giants | Eli Manning wants to replace offensive weapons
Posted: 3 days 9 hrs 56 mins ago. | Source footballguys

New York Giants QB Eli Manning is hoping the team drafts some more offensive firepower in this year's NFL Draft after they lost RB Brandon Jacobs and WR Mario Manningham to the San Francisco 49ers. 'When we go into the draft, that could be an area we try to attack,' Manning. 'Get a skill-position guy who can help us get carries, get catches, in some ways get that same production from the guys we lost last year.' Manning said Stanford TE Coby Fleener could be a target after the team lost both TEs Jake Ballard (knee) and Travis Beckum (knee) to knee injuries in the Super Bowl.

No Coby but heck he has to be thrilled !

Eli must be drooling by now thinking about his new toys to play with.

It was strange to say the least, first coach Pope goes to see Coby Fleener at Stanford pro day, then Eli says those remarks about Fleener and then 4 days ago there's the Peter King story with that so call twitter citing coach Pope about his ideal TE, practically saying that Coby was more like a WR type of player.
Well we can close now that chapter for good .

I got to see a lot of George Bryan and I like him a lot. Some say he hasn't been productive but in SC he was more a blocking TE, a really, really good one but when giving the opportunity he made plays and TDs. He was a semifinalist for the Mackey award in TE 2010 and IMO could fit perfect in coach Pope sistem. What's bothering is that I don't know if he is going to go undrafted. Is he worth a 6th round pick ? Maybe a 7 th ? Where does JR has him ranked ? We will see tomorrow.
