Thread: 4 WR

    4 WR

Let's assume that R2 will be our #3 receiver. Let's debate who will fill the 4 hole. I think we are forgetting that we got bennett. This guy might be a steal for us. Anyway, I would love to see a tall package, where we have our height guys out there in 4-5 receiver sets. Nicks-barden- Cruz- Randall- Robinson. That would be something. Eli would have a field day.

    its all about matchups.

we have an excellent mix of different types of wr's that offer up diff. dynamics.

nicks and randle i'd say are all around type wr's.

cruz, JJ are guys who can kill out of the slot, and cruz will also kill out on the perimeter.

Bardens the wild card who is approaching critical mass. he has to show where he can fit in and do it fast....unlike most, i still believe he makes the roster and is activated most of the games. JR approached the whole ST aspect through the plethora of DB's he's added.

Oh and about Bennett, I am extremely excited to see him play, but I dunno how smart it'd be to line him up out wide or off the line, part of his skill set is the ability to block at a high level, to take him off the line just eleminates the possibility or the ability to show that he may block...

i still also think we will add a WR and TE after teams start making roster cuts

I'm excited about our depth and expect either JJ or Barden to step up. And Hixon provides veteran experience there, too.

Barden #4. If you ask me Barden is still going to be #3. It's going to be a great camp with the battle at WR and at RB.

Remember, Bennett is a lineman first in this organization. I'd also be careful crowning Randle before he takes a snap in the NFL or assuming Barden will do something he's not been able to do in three years.

Actually, I don't think Randal is going to make a very big impact on the team in his first year.

Look at the history of our WR over the past 6 or 7 seasons and it shows that guys need at least a year to really learn this system before they're able to play naturally.

Smith, MM, Cruz made little impacts in their first year. Well, smith did come on in the playoffs. Even Nicks had some ups and downs his rookie season.

JRs' always building towards the future, so the Randal pick isn't necessarily about this year.

Based on what in his first three years in the NFL? Perhaps we should wait for the actual competition and pre-season. He hasn't been lighting the field up so far.

One of the things I like about the organization is that they don't "expect" a lot out of their draftees in the year they are drafted, preferring to develop them over time.
