He came to terms with them on a 5 year 100 million contract making him highest paid QB in nfl.
So its all good IMO. Wouldn't want to beat them without brees. Don't want any excuses from Saints fans when we rip them apart this season

2013? LGNYG bring home another Title this year!!!
Better he is with them than another team that is poised to hurt us. The Saints are an impaired organization this year and probably next due to the hit on coaching, players and picks. By year 3, he will be older and less able to hurt us (whoops only their defense does that) and his age will make him more susceptible to injury. I'm thrilled to have him there tying up so much cap space. It could be much worse if he hooked up elsewhere with a team on the rise.
No one remembers who came in second.
And if the Saints weren't so greedy, they would have signed Him right after the SB win. ( Instead of letting Him play for two years on the cheap. ) I am so glad He is back with the Saints. I want Big Blue to spank them so hard ( Hopefully in the regular season, and putting the exclamation mark in the Playoffs ) That Bree's favorite move against our Defense is the " Fetal Position. "
I wholeheartedly agree with the both of you

Somehow they structured his deal so that his salary is only a 10mil or so cap hit. How is this possible? I'm guessing signing bonus. This does not sound legit. How can you pay a guy 20 mil average a year and only have 10 million a year as a cap hit. Nuts.

The 10 mil cap hit is only for this season - it almost doubles next year.

You are correct with the signing bonus and that's what got the deal done.
It's basically an ascending contract. Each year's base salary is higher than the previous year with the first year being the lowest.
Should hurt the saints in the long run. Less draft picks and less money to spend on free agents. Can't wait for the saints to be irrelevant again.
