2012 Rule Changes

Changes to our favorite game have certainly become a yearly routine.

Anyone know which rules are changed for 2012?

I'm pretty sure this is a new rule that all turnovers are now reviewed automatically. So a coach doesn't have to use a challenge to review a fumble for example.


Also, postseason overtime rules now apply to all regular season games. No opening possession game winning field goals anymore.

now it's more like that college fiasco....

I guess they feel if a team fights back to tie a game late and lose in OT because of a coin toss on a FG it's unfair. There should have a right to get ball and try to tie again or win. However the team that gets ball first can still win sudden death style by going down and scoring a TD

The blow to the head of QB now has to be with force or intent- so tap to head isn't gonna do it.

I like this change. Though it will probably one of the more inconsistant calls made.
