Watching the Titans and Bucs Pre-Season game and noticed. (Streak and Read Principle)
both teams are running the same system as the giants. i know chris palmer and mike sullivan are the O.C. for both teams but it was weird to see Freeman and Locker call out the mike while at the line but it was even weirder when they were in a 2x1 wr sets and they had their receivers run the switch routes that Gilbride has been doing for years with the Giants.

"But the biggest change might be in the way Freeman goes through his progressions. By most accounts, Sullivan's system includes post-snap route adjustments based on what the defense does.
"Surely, there's a lot of stuff in this offense that is on-the-fly and conversion-type of stuff," Bucs backup quarterback Dan Orlov*sky said.
Receivers and quarterbacks have to be on the same page in any offense. But at times for the Bucs this season, it might look as though they're not working from the same playbook.
"In this system, they probably put a lot on the receivers to read the routes on the fly," Johnson said. "Is it a curl? Does it adjust to a corner route? Is it a hitch? Or does it convert to a fade? Is it a square-in? Does it convert to a square-in and go?"

i wonder how many pics freeman and locker will throw this year when the wr or them are not on the same page.
Yea that defiantly sounds like our offense and it seems it takes a couple of years of being in the system to master for both the QB and WR
I completely respect this organization for keeping the same O coordinator for 6+ years
it takes time and I hate to see teams switch offensive coordinators every year and expect immediate results, then the opposing defensive coordinators could guess it too easy

That's why I really don't like Jackson this year for Tampa. Playing, and having so much success, in Turner's "Air Coryell" offense made it a bit strange to sign Jackson into a Run-Shoot type offense. I think Freeman and Locked will do fine, they'll be handing the ball off a lot. I'm interested to see how Kendall Wright does for Tennessee, he will be playing in the X role on the offense, and the isolated receiver to the open side of the formation. It's very similar to what we do with Nicks. Good post, but I'm gonna get sick of seeing "read and streak principle" littered in people's posts all over the boards now.
And to anyone who has seen my FF team (http://boards.giants.com/showthread....am....thoughts), it isn't a coincidence that two of my starting RBs are guys who's teams are just switching to this type of offense. Not an easy system, so running the ball is going to be very important to both Tennessee, and Tampa Bay.
agree! l'd like to see what VJ is saying about the offense compared to what he was used to with Norv.
