I dont see how we can even have the optimism of "tossup". The Gmen have historically stepped up for these games but have also lost most of them in the regular season.

The 49rs are better then they were last year and as of now we most assuredly are not.
I think even the biggest diehard homer fan is gonna find it difficult to dispute that.

When they were 4-2 last season, they had basically the same good things and question marks as what's going now in this season. Presumeably, they will find ways to get to the other quarterback again. Maybe there's hope their running game is actually much improved, which should mean they don't fall into a losing streak halfway through and won't rely on winning every game towards to end to get into the playoffs.

Well that would mean it would no longer be an opinion now would it. It would be fact. Good try though. I'm just saying with the injuries and going into san fran with the way they're playing right now, if they take that game I'm predicting they get back into the superbowl.
