Why the Niners will win; Matchups, thoughts, projections

Hey Giant fans, here is why the Niners should win. Would love to hear your responses, I will keep the smack talk out of it.

    1. We are at home, I know you guys are a good road team, but believe me the team, coaches and fans have been waiting for this game since the schedule came out. Advantage Niners.

    2. Our Oline is dominating. We have one of if not the best O lines in football. Physical Smash Mouth players. All are young but experienced playing together. Our new right guard is a huge upgrade over last year. Your D line has dissappointed. Not getting pressure as before. Advantage Niners.

    3. QB. Smith leads league in rating and QBR. Great record at home. Found the deep ball. Come from behind wins. Better uniform. Ok, I give up, would take Eli here hands down. Advantage Giants.

    4. RB. With injuries to your backs, I lean towards the Niners, but your guy had a monster game last week. Advatage: Push

    5. WR. Again, health is an issue for you guys. If you are 100% healthy, it is Giants all the way, but right now...this game, the way we use Moss as a decoy (always draws the safety) and the way our receivers have stepped up, Advantage Niners. (I will prob lose this arguement) lol

    6. D line. Advantage Niners. No question. Every team tries to stop our run, and for the most part fails. We stop the run.

    7. Line Backers Advantage Niners. No question

    8. Secondary. I think the way our secondary is playing, we are better...however you have Eli, and he does some crazy sh** when he needs to. Advantage Push

    9. Special teams. I would say we have a huge advantage here. Forget the Williams crap, overall we are better, except in punt/kickoff return coverage. We have a serious hole there. Advantage Push

I am sure there are more things to talk about, but I think being at home, health of the two teams, the revenge thing that will play into this game, we will win. It will not be a blow out, but the Niners should win.

i think its more about sf offense vs giants offense than it is anything else. which offense will have more success? i personally believe that having eli gives us the advantage. ur d was plenty awesome last year, and u were getting more pressure than any team i can recall with the 20 something hits on eli and 6 sacks. both games really u guys gave eli a hurting but it didnt matter, he still overcame it and had tremendous game. eli is somehow playing at the same level or even higher level...i just think the eli vs smith matchup favors us strongly and it will be why we win

well.....to simplify. The Niners D is better than the Giants D. The Giants O is better then the Niners O. Special teams I dont know enough about the Niners but the Giants have been better on the return game and is solid with their kickers. The coverage can be spotty though.

Why did this get moved to smack talk? It was a pretty reasonable and classy post. Oh well.

WR advantage will depend on if Nicks plays or not. I love me some Manningham but take it from a Giants fan, he was never in the Nicks or Cruz class. Crabtree is playing good so far but he needs to show me more as the season goes on before I get into the "like em" camp. Amazing Moss can still play at 35 (right?) but outside of VD, I worry about Crabtree and MM more than Moss.
3/25/14 - Updated Mock with 5th round comp pick

    1. Anthony Barr, Defensive End, UCLA
    2. Marcus Martin, Center Guard, USC
    3. Anthony Johnson, Defensive Nostril Tackle, LSU
    4. Marcel Jensen, Offensive End, Fresno State
    5. Wesley Johnson, Offensive Any Guard, Vanderbilt
    5. Aaron Colvin, Defensive Halfback, Oklahoma
    6. Storm Johnson, Guy Who Runs With Football, UCF

I dont know why it was moved to smack talk....sucks becuase I did not want to argue, just talk facts. Agree 100% on Nicks if he plays. Manningham is a role player for us and he is helping out our game plan. Same goes for Moss, he opens up our run/trick plays game (see the WildKap plays). Crabtree has vastly improved this year, seems to be injury free for the first time.

I think the SF psyche will be fine. Like many of you have said, this is just a regular season game. We are 4-1 and have a good slew of games coming up to improve our record. We have not played a divisional game yet...you guys are 0-2 in your division, that would worry me.

Yes, I expect a tight game. If the Niners can keep their style of play going, dont get behind early, I think we will win. But than again, you have Eli.

Overall I think the advantage goes to the 9ers here in this game. Without breaking down position by position, it seems to me the 9ers are just as good, if not better than they were last year, where the Giants have seemed to take a notable step down from where they were in the playoffs because of the uninspiring defense thus far. And I think the 9ers are a much hungrier team.

I think the 9ers win this one.

    why the Giants will win

    1. They play better on the road then at home

    2. QB there is now arguement here Eli is ten times the QB Smith is...

    3. I really think our RB are going to have a decent game, cause our o-line has been playing great only five sacks allowed this season.

    4. Nicks and Cruz, even if Nicks doesn't play I still say we have the better wr's Hixon would be a number 1 on a lot of teams and Barden is coming back.We also has Bennett and he better then what we had last year.

    5. Defense while they haven't been playing good I think it is just because of injuries but if we get Hosley back I really don't think Rio is going to have success against him, but the 49ers definitely have the edge there.

Basically our passing game is going to be there and if Bradshaw or Wilson can give us anything we will be ok. Our defense has to stop the run. with the people we are getting back I think we can accomplish that. I really think our coaches know that we are going to have to play the field advantage game and we won't take risk unless they are there. I can't wait for this game... I think it has the potential to be the game of the year.
