Eli's having a long stretch of really bad games. It's making everyone wonder if 2011 was just a fluke. Deal with it, and stop crying and making sorry excuses.

There is alot to be desired with the system Gilbride runs. When Eli is on fire, the offense is very difficult to stop. But I personally think that Eli is much better than the system he operates in.
"Landry built the 4-3 defense around me. It revolutionized defense and opened the door for all the variations of zones and man-to-man coverage, which are used in conjunction with it today." —Sam Huff
oh stop...
what happens when Eli and he offense does well......obvioulsy they can handle it...
So the offense only isnt friendly when they are sucking????
Measure Twice......Cut Once"
Eli cannot have success when his O-line does not provide enough time in the pocket. Gilbride plays a downfield offense. He has 1 checkdown short route, and the rest are all agressively downfield. His plays need time to develop.
What is hindering Eli is 1) The offensive line is not giving the play enough time (not just DD, the whole line) and 2) The WR being played man to man, losing the battle, and the safeties are playing over the top because they don't respect our running game.
I'm not saying Eli couldn't play better, but he is definitely in a poor situation right now, and it's no surprise watching the plays develop that he's not finding a lot of success.
sometimes there are no check down routes
for instance the 3rd and 1 play against the Steelers
this happens quite a bit actually
I am no Gilbride hater....I actually like the guy
but a check down route or two would be a wise thing to implement when observing an O line performing the way this line has in recent games
Not correct. There is equal blame for all. Up until last week Giants were LEAST sacked team in NFL. Why? Good OL play but also Eli getting rid of ball quickly throwing it away or dumping it off. Also short passes are a part of the offense. So it is not true that the passing game is all downfield. In addition, Eli's accuracy took a definite turn for the worse about three games ago when he was still being protected. So it is not all on the line even though they had a terrible game last week. What has happened to Eli's accuracy? He probably doesn't know himself. Last year he was deadly accurate and also during the first six games this year. Hope he can get it back soon. I'm not saying it's all on him but he is definitely a factor. Unfortunately our WRs have also slumped in the same last few games so with two simultaneous problems the passing game has essentially gone to hell. Special teams and defense allowed us to win a couple of those games and almost win another one. Of course, last week everybody played horrible and that game has the boards buzzing. We'll have to see whether that was just a hiccup or a premonition of dark days ahead.
