When we came off the BYE week, Coach Coughlin said we now have a "six week season." So we started out at 1 - 0. We didn't just win the Packers game, we won it decisively. That's the kind of football we need to play for the next five games is we are to win the Division. We have the talent to run the table.
We still have injuries to some key players and that makes it harder for us to win games. But Next Man Up has worked pretty well this season. Playing who is currently arguably the most mobile QB threat will require that everyone on Defense be alert for the option threat(s). Hopefully JPP will play tonight as he seems to have learned the value of not over pursuing RGIII.
The secondary has been playing better and it will be interesting to see if they employ the 3 safety scheme if Kenny Phillips can't go. Prince is doing a great job and we have had better than average play from Stevie Brown (most of the time) and we have Jayron Hosley and Will Hill to round of the young bucks.
Last week, Antrel Rolle seemed to have found a home closer to the LOS and in the slot. So much so that he clamped a lid on the Packers biggest receiving threat in Randall Cobb.
So now we get the chance to see how much we can expect out of rookie RB David Wilson. Will he be our surprise play maker tonight? How many snaps will he get? Will he factor into the passing game? Can he make his reads and blocks?
It seems to me we have benefited from the relatively late BYE week. We know what's at stake, we know our destiny is in OUR hands. It doesn't matter what anyone else does if we take care of business.
HERE WE GO, GIANTS, HERE WE GO!!
