The Giants had horrible field position in the late stages of the game (thanks to penalties and the Skins ball movement). I really saw the Giants played ultra conservative on offense when they were backed up and we can second guess that til the cows come home. The truth is that backed up deep, the offensive line got beat in the second half. Their front lines beat our front lines.
What concerns me the most is I saw total confusion on the defensive side. Sure the Skins only scored 17 but, they played keep away from the Giants in the 2nd half. They drove as the clock run out and not for the fumble, they would have had much more than 17. Running the ball as they did eats up alot of clock. We have an achilles heel on defense against teams that can run.
For the Giants to score points in the red zone is a separate issue. My personal belief is they need to be aggressive and more vertical in the red zone. IE go the end zone on first down and spread the defense.
