Where were these complaints after the Packers game? Knees jerk from week to week around here
The three players who get to the QB the most are on the 49ers, texans, and Broncos.
Seahawks actually have very good sub package rushers as well
It's not playing aggressive that's the difference, it's having aggressive players who can impact the QB on their own
The difference between Fewell in the playtoffs last year and Fewell last week is that his players played better in the playoffs.
Nothing wrong with his scheme last week. You can't play a lot of blitz and then man coverage against a running QB. You need a secondary that's facing the QB.
The defensive front 7 just played lousy. Or to be more specific, they wore down in the 4th quarter.
And for those who asked if his system is a winning one....that question is so silly its barely worth answering. He's the DC of the Superbowl champs for God's sake.
Get well soon 80.
My goal had been to win a championship, work toward the Hall of Fame, have my jersey retired by the team and I`d go in as a lifelong New York Giant, but I`m now resigned to the fact that this won`t happen. -- Michael Strahan, just when you think you're down...
Case and point look at the Tampa Bay game this year. We got no pressure as usual so Fewell sent the blitz more often than not, leaving Tryon outside 1v1 with Vincent Jackson, and he was absolutely toasted. So it's either play a more conservative defense and give up little chunks of yardage here and there in hopes that we eventually get a stop, or we can blitz more and leave our secondary more exposed to the big play. Like I said earlier the personnel dictates what the coordinators can do.
These guys should be a heck of a lot more worried about what Drew Brees might do to this defense this week than anything that roach with braids can hope to bring. DCs have been trying to game plan for Drew Brees for years and have limitied success.
Our defense in the game against Washington Redskins needed the attitude of Pittsburgh Steelers. They marginalized roach with braids quite effectively.
