funny you brought that up, someone called up fat mike yesterday and said that. fat mike tried blowing it off "today you have guys like breez and payton who throw for 5000 yards now. its pretty impressive but not as much as it use to be." made me mad. he was teeing off on the giants yesterday. he sounded frustrated.
In today's game, if a QB throws for less than 3000 yards and less than 20 TD's, the fans would be calling for his head.
Then how come ben hasn't done it?

In reality the only reaosn Rivers hasn't done it was because he didn't start the first 2-3 years he was in the league. He already has 3k and 16 Tds. I guess its possible he doesn't hit it this year, but doubtful that he doesnt
Because he missed games in several seasons. That stat suggests a starting QB who hasn't missed significant time in 7 years. If Eli had a season where he threw for 3000 yards and 20 TD's it would be the worst season of his career. It would be the worst season of the careers of most starting QB's in the NFL.

The New Jersey Nets are prepared to offer a trade package featuring Brook Lopez and two future first-round picks to acquire Dwight Howard before the Orlando Magic center becomes a free agent in July 2012, according to sources close to the situation.
Sources

hard to pass up if ur the magic. Then you can use that new rule to kill a contract on Arenas and you have some building blocks. Once Dwights gone your ****ed

Whats up with Dwill? Can he get out of that European contract?

It would be hard to pass up but if you can get Bynum and Gasol plus a pick and we take back Hedo it's a way better deal. Howard wants to play in purple and gold.

He is already out of the contract and on his way back to the US.

    Rangers Looking At Bobby Ryan

Rangers general manager Glen Sather has been in touch with Ducks
counterpart Bob Murray regarding the availability of 24-year-old power
winger Bobby Ryan, The Post has learned.

    It is unclear whether
Sather is simply conducting due diligence regarding Ryan, who is being
dangled by the skidding Ducks, or whether discussions have evolved
    beyond the tire-kicking stage.

    The Rangers, who toppled the
Penguins 4-3 last night, have a number of prime assets to send to the
Ducks for Ryan, who will attract considerable interest from big-time
franchises throughout the league as Anaheim — which is on streaks of
    0-5, 0-6-1 and 1-10-3 in carrying a 6-13-4 record into tonight’s match
against Montreal — is seeking to replenish by gaining a package of
young, cap-friendly players in exchange for the three-time 30-goal
    scorer.

It is believed the Rangers consider Ryan Callahan, Derek Stepan, Marc
Staal (who has begun skating on his own), Dan Girardi, Ryan McDonagh
and Michael Sauer to be untouchables within the organization regarding
    this particular equation.

“The Rangers have a lot of assets within
the organization,” an individual familiar with the situation told The
    Post. “A lot of assets.”

Ryan, who has recorded 11 points (7-4)
following last season’s 71-point performance (34-37), has been a part of
the Ducks’ formidable first-line that includes reigning Hart Trophy
winner Corey Perry and center Ryan Getzlaf.

    The 6-foot-2,
210-pound New Jersey native has three seasons following this one
remaining on a contract that carries a $5.1 million cap hit. Ryan, a
right-handed shot who can play either wing, is due to become an
    unrestricted free agent following 2014

Seriously man. It's been the same thing every year for a couple years now. It's getting so old.

You guys are nuts. I would kill for the division to come down to our week 17 game vs. Dallas.

But that is very unlikely. Maybe about a 10% shot. Don't start sounding like spoiled Pats fans.
You took that the wrong way MH. It shouldn't come down to a game in week 13 or 14. We should be more consistent. The fact that we are playing "playoff games" in the regular season with our life on the line is what we are talking about.

I would love that last game to be for all the marbles to. Trust me!

debatable... Gasol seems to be on a bad decline and Bynum can't stay healthy

Gasol may end up being just another bad contract like Hedo

They were saying that the Lakers were going to use that contract exemption on Artest. He would be a nice signing for NY. Bring a defensive mentality
Fear the name, appreciate the game

I really don't think anything but that will happen and it sucks.

We were in the Saints game even in the 3rd quarter. Then we just fell apart. Once we get down they just give up. I don't understand it.

Guess that falls on the coach right Dez?

You could be right. Everyone is going to want Dwight. People will offer alot but if Dwight won't resign with the team he is traded to then it's a big risk ala D Will. He could leave NJ after this year and be an unrestricted FA. The team that Dwight gets traded to will want him to commit to a long term deal before they give up everything. The Nets were kind of silly for doing that unless D Will resigns.

His name is Metta World Peace now Matt and it would be good if he went to NY. It almost happened when he was a FA.

Did you see what I posted yesterday about what Shaq said regarding Kobe as the best Laker ever and the fact we could get CP3 and Dwight?
