This conversation is about how hockey is perceived nationally. Like ANY sport throughout history, it needs a posterboy. When NHL had one, there was a major jump in national attention and interest... since hes been gone its been on a decline...

MMA had NO marketing but still captured americas heart. Hockey has been around long enough and has enough time on ESPN's highlight to get attention...

if people like the sport they would watch it....
