That too, but It's a little more complicated then just using an external hard-drive to back up...but B's way is completely free...don't even need to buy another storage device (assuming the one you have is large enough already....which for you is highly likely)

yeah it is a little complicated "I'd recommend partition magic for the job about 50 bucks"there are some free programs out there also... or do it fromscratch...which is the most complicated way...I haven't done it in a while but I have several machines here with dual boot I have one with trip boot...win xp,win98 and Lennox with I never got used to...I haven't done anything to this machine cause most cases I can get the virus outeither witha remote machine "home network"or the virus software....your way is a goodidea also.....most cases the info on a hard drive is never lost there is a way to get it as long as the hard drive still spins up...If it don't your screwed....</P>

Buy a external hard drive for 50 bucks, back up your important crap once or twice a month onto it from now on.

that way you can just wipe the PC when this **** happens it takes like 10 minutes and is free to do.

Yup, i do this. I have 2 externals. I used to have 3 but one **** the bed.
Another cool option is cheap cloud service. couple bucks a year, once a week auto upload specific folders to backup files. My friend does it for his photography portfolio, that way:
A) access it anywhere via cloud
B) backup in case his computer takes a ****</P>

My daughter is getting me a back up hard drive for Father's Day. She's coming over for my step-daughters wedding in a few weeks (can't believe its only 17 days away) So she'll back up all my files for me.</P>
