Good morning everyone. How is everyone doing today?
I really like Wilson. He's a beast, and I hope he continues. Nice to have a speedy back!

What do you think of the blockbuster trade the Sox made? I thought it was a mistake trading Gonzo, but as a Yankees fan I'm glad he's out of the AL East.

Giants fan since the early 80s
fairly obvious salary dump, and im like 99% sure that the deal wouldnt have gotten done without Gonzalez as the lone bargaining chip.
What I DONT understand, is LAD is in financial shambles. What are they doing taking on all these huge contracts?? lol
But whatever....like you said, he's out of the AL East....

I was very happy with it. Makes this horrible sesason a little better. They will fire Bobby V and then bring in Tek or another young manager. Now with the salary dump they can go after a few free agants that can really help. (maybe even bring Yuke back).
All in all, it was a great move and I know that basically all Sox fans are happy about it.

They aren't it shambles at all. They are about to complete a TV deal like YES Network or NESN. Don't forget they have a new ownership group with Magic Johnson. The old owner is gone. Hard to believe that they took Crawford but thats just a bonus for us. Plus we got a couple really good pitching prospects.
Don't worry....The dynasty is still in place. We just took a year off to find ourselves.

Getting out from under the Crawford contract was key. That was going to kill our ability to get better down the road. Beckett too. He was essentially useless since he signed the new contract a few years ago. Maybe he'll fair better in the NL. Gonzo was the key for LA, but we had too many left handed hitters. Not a good fit in Fenway. I look for us to try to get some right handed power next off season.
