I'm ok still, gas is the real problem, all the stations are out of electric so the pumps aren't running and people are running out of gas for their generators....it's supposed to be cold tonight too I think...

lines are miles long for the gas stations that do have power....

I've had power at work monday-wensday but we lost power for a while today.

It's crazy. A lot of the damage is at the beaches obviously. My co-worker said his whole house is destroyed. No contact from him lately. But I'm hearing he's OK.

Yea, i'm just now hearing that because of issues at the ports, that gas isn't being delivered to alot of other areas. I had no idea the overall supply was being affected.

I'm going to have to fill up again, because they are saying by Sunday, we might be out up here in PK too. Westchester is already forming the mile long lines as of yesterday.

to take people's mind off things? idk....im against the people who are literally protesting it. You know people have to qualify for the NYC marathon, right? It's an honor to be in. I wouldn't take it away from them.

Its taking away from the relief efforts. Do you realize how much police and other services that are required for an undertaking that large? It could be postponed for a week or two.
Either way, it doesn't have anything to do with quitting. Its going to start in Staten Island where there is little or no power. To me, its poorly placed priorities.
