I doubt it's a ploy to get more money or anything. Obviously teams would be interested. I assume he actually does want to play there maybe.
But if he RATHER play there....well, peace out, buddy.
ummm because he doesnt need a negotiating ploy. ALOT of teams would be interested. I'm sure he would take most good deals the Giants threw at him first, but I'm saying that it's not necessary for him in this scenario. only ****ty players, and players on awful teams pull moves like that.
"Miami will give me 7mill a year, what will you give me?"
Yes Ahmad, I'm sure alot of teams would give you 7 a year....that's my point.

well we'll see how much he wnats to stay in NY because once its signed all teams will have like 3 days to resign players before free agency starts. So he'll have his shot

They already stated he is a high priority, he may get more $ from other teams. But the Giants will not give him peanuts.

And what would he rather do, go to a bad team and get paid. Or stay with a good team and get paid?

If I were a betting man. (and we all know I'm not) I would say that we will lose Bradshaw and Cofield and resign Kiwi and Steve Smith.

I do see a slight possibility that we sign Deangelo Williams.

Just a guess based on my evil genius.
