Santana Moss is undergoing surgery on his fractured left hand Monday and will miss "at least a month," according to the Washington Post.

ESPN 980 Washington reported late Sunday that Moss' timetable was 3-4 weeks, so the Post's report is more gloomy. The missed games will be Moss' first since the 2007 season. Fantasy owners can consider dropping Moss in 10- and 12-team leagues.

Updating a previous item, Profootballtalk.com reports that Willis
McGahee did require surgery on the fractured fourth metacarpal in his
hand and will be sidelined for 1-2 weeks.

He had the surgery on Monday. The 1-2 week timetable is
actually better than expected. Fantasy owners need to hang onto
McGahee, who should emerge from the injury in Week 9 or 10 with his
featured running back role intact.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz said at his Monday press

injury.

Stafford's MRI came back negative, and his knee
injury is considered a dead issue. It's important to remember initial
injury assessments are almost always too sunny, but there has yet to be
anything to indicate Stafford will be unavailable for Week 8 against the
Broncos.

Cardinals coach Ken Whisehunt confirmed Monday that Beanie Wells' right knee is structurally stable and won't require surgery.

The Cardinals were "encouraged" by tests taken on
Wells because they initially feared he might be done for the year. "It
will be a little bit of back-by-committee," said Whisenhunt of his
backfield for Week 8 against Baltimore. Whisenhunt said Wells' knee
injury does not have a bone bruise, as reported by NFL Network on
Monday.
