This is the stance I had taken last year and couldn't agree more with what you said.

Scrappy lucked out with Austin going down. He essentially traded a top 5 WR in Austin and another legit #2 WR in Moss for two #2 WR's and a back up QB.</P>

It worked out because Matts two WR's he got ended up injured. If he had to start Cutler instead of Newton he'd be toast.</P>

But I admit, through circumstances, his team looks strong.</P>

Giants Run Defense: You know the drill. The Giants are
supposed to be smashmouth: all about running the ball and stopping the
run. It's time for reality to erase that hype. New York has rushed for
the third-fewest yards per game in the NFL on offense, and they've been
borderline disastrous keeping opposing RBs in check over the past month.
    They've been steamrolled by <a class="flexpop">LeSean McCoy</a>, <a class="flexpop">Beanie Wells</a>, <a class="flexpop">Marshawn Lynch</a> and <a class="flexpop">Fred Jackson</a> in their past four games. What gives?

    The
Giants were off last week, but I went back and grabbed film of their
run-defense lowlights from their previous four tilts. An argument
defending the G-Men probably begins with the fact that <a class="flexpop">Justin Tuck</a>
hasn't seen the field since Week 3; Tuck will reportedly return for
this week's game against the Dolphins. But I also see some inexperienced
    linebackers making mistakes. <a class="flexpop">Greg Jones</a>
has potential, but hasn't completely filled a trouble spot that's
plagued the Giants for a few seasons; he doesn't make nearly enough
    tackles for a 4-3 middle linebacker. <a class="flexpop">Jacquian Williams</a>'
speed on the weak side occasionally flashes, but I saw him run his way
directly out of tackles on a couple occasions versus the Seahawks and
Bills. The good news is that these guys are rookies with nice upside who
could start performing better as soon as this year, as they adjust: The
art form to defending the run is often slowing down just a bit rather
than charging uncontrolled where you think the RB might go. (<a class="flexpop">Antonio Pierce</a> was fantastic at this.) The bad news, though, is that for the moment there are too many big runs coming against the Giants:</p><div class="mod-container mod-no-footer content-box mod-inline full mod-no-header-footer"><div class="mod-content"><h3>

New York Giants Rush Defense, Past 4 Games

</th><th> Rush Plays of 10+ Yds </th><th> Total Rushes </th><th> % of Big Plays </th></tr>
    </thead><tbody><tr class="last"><td> Week 3 </td><td> 8 </td><td> 40 </td><td> 20.0 </td></tr>

    <tr class="last"><td> Total </td><td> 16 </td><td> 124 </td><td> 12.9 </td></tr>
    </tbody></table>Source: Stats LLC</div></div>

    That
12.9 percent mark is 23rd-best in the NFL, making this Giants D a
bottom-10 unit when it comes to stopping big plays on the ground. It's
true that the G-Men are still fearsome in their pass rush, but they
don't scare me as a running back matchup right now.</p>

Bolden and marshall are dud FF-wise. You got Cutler and then released him. Austin got hurt right after the trade and hasn't been right since.</p>

But it was Cam Newton that saved your bacon.</p>

You got scalped on the trade if you take out injuries and your winning the lotto with Newton.</p>[/quote]

Blah blah blah, my team has done better then it would have done had I not made that trade so far, and it looks like it will be doing far better for the rest of the year as well, (Boldin and Marshall will end up a better duo then Santana Moss and Austin Miles straight up)

the trade was GOOD for me...so ya'll need to stop the nitpicking and whining about every "questionable" so you guys say trade every year and let the chips fall where they may.

Based on this, the total number of rushing attempts by our opponents has consistently declined since week 3. I'd say that's because we are easier to pass against. I agree that in week 3 we were soft in the middle, but I'm not seeing that we are that weak on the ground right now.
