is first tie breaker head to head? Cuz if it is then your right. I didn't factor that

wait, i always get confused wtih this

    tiebreakers go:

    head to head
    Division
    Conference

    right?

well wait a second - so that means we only have 2 games that aren't the same correct?

IF thats the case then THIS IS a big game.

If we win tonight and then only lose in the split vs dallas and vs GB

And Dallas loses to us and Philly - we will have the tiebreaker seeing as how

---- ahh forget it - no way we can really get in without beating dallas twice
Unless dallas falls apart and finishes behind us. Thats right. 99% chance than we MUST beat Dallas twice. If we do win one of the next two game though, we can also afford to lose to the Jets or Washington once.

Point is that we essentially HAVE to beat Dallas twice.

Win our last 4 games and we are in. That sounds perfect. Then we would get a home playoff game and win that for sure because we play so awesome at home.

TO BREAK A TIE WITHIN A DIVISION

If, at the end of the regular season, two or more
clubs in the same division finish with identical won-lost-tied
percentages, the following steps will be taken until a champion is
    determined.

Two Clubs

    1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
    2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
    3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
    4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
    5. Strength of victory.
    6. Strength of schedule.
    7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
    8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
    9. Best net points in common games.

    damn

    well that sucks

if we win tonight, the only way it would matter is if Dallas drops 3 more games for the rest of the year and at least one of them are to us

Thats right Matt. If we win our last 4 games the best Dallas can be is 10-6 and we would be the same. Plus we will have beaten them twice.

The problem is that if we lose 4 in a row I doubt TC can motivate this team to keep fighting given his history here. We did win our last 4 games after being 6-6 in 2002 to finish 10-6 and make the playoffs. But we didn't lose 4 in a row to get to 6-6.
so bottom line if we are going to split with Dallas we have to be 1 up on them to get into the playoffs...

    which is rough
Not really. We can both be 3-3 in the division. But the bottom line is probably that we have to sweep them. If it comes down to week 17 for all the marbles I will be delighted.
well if the scenerio arises that we win tonight, they lose to philly, and we split with them

then everything is tied, THEN it goes to conference?
And we would lose that because we would be3-1 outside the conference and they would be 2-2. leaving them with a better NFC record.

Back to point A. We must sweep them unless they finish with a worse record than us. And if wedon't sweep them they would have to lose to both the eagles AND Tampa or Zona.

Eli against the blitz. The Saints love to blitz, and Giants quarterback Eli Manning will surely face extra pass-rushers on Monday night. But in spite of the injury to running back Ahmad Bradshaw,
who's one of the best backs in the league at picking up the blitz,
Manning has fared well this season against five or more rushers. In
fact, over the past two years, Manning ranks among the best quarterbacks
in the league when teams send five or more pass-rushers. His 74.6 Total
QBR in those situations is fifth-best, his 8.4 yards per attempt and
his touchdown-to-interception ratio of plus-16 are third-best, and only Aaron Rodgers has thrown more touchdown passes than the 26 Manning has thrown over the past two years when teams send five or more.

truth of it is that odds are, I think NFC East has a good shot at having a team at the last wildcard.

    Atl has a hard schedule...

tonight will be big for the wildcard fight, not so much the division
Fear the name, appreciate the game
