Idk if you guys want to continue the conversation of basketball....but...over the past few years, i been thinkin....
Why do centers in the NBA suck so bad?? There are like no good big guys in basketball anymore. its pretty terrible.
it is amazing

you would think with how naturally its been over sports with players being generally bigger and stronger that centers have devolved. Its a weird thing
Fear the name, appreciate the game

The back to the basket game has gone away in the NBA. There are no more players like Shaq, Ewing or Hakeem. Big guys don't even have post moves anymore. Dwight being the exception, he can't play with his front to the basket or hit a jumpshot to save his life. Everyone tries to make moves towards the basket. Also the Euro players have a big part of it as well I think. They are 7 footers shooting 3's. The game also has gotten alot faster and these big men can't keep up. I would say there are less than 5 true centers in the game anymore.

On the Dan Patrick Show today, Aikman said he doesn’t think
he’s any tougher on Eli than he is on any other NFL quarterback. And he
reminded Archie that his son is a grown man who can handle such
    criticism himself.

“Eli hasn’t said anything to me,” Aikman said. “He’s 30 years old and
if he has something to say or if he feels I’m being a little too tough
then he can certainly voice that.”

Aikman added that he thinks highly of the youngest member of the
Manning quarterback clan, but that when Eli threw one particularly bad
pass in that game against the Patriots, it was Aikman’s job to say so.

“I think Eli is playing outstanding,” Aikman said. “Archie is
referring to a game a few weeks back, when Eli, with a one-possession
lead, threw a reckless ball into the corner of the end zone, it was
intercepted and you just can’t have that as a quarterback. I know that,
Eli knows that. I pointed it out. Sometimes quarterbacks don’t play as
great as their parents think they do.”

Aikman is right: Announcers who sugarcoat their commentary are doing a
disservice to the viewers. If a quarterback makes a mistake, the
ex-quarterback in the booth is supposed to analyze the mistake, without
worrying about how the quarterback’s dad might feel.

One of the comments on the story...made me laugh and think of MH.

Troy should feel lucky Archie isn’t Phil Simms

i typically agree that Aikman tries to be balanced and I guess his argument would have more validity of Peyton didn't call him and buck out in 2008 too. The thing Aikmans missing is that this isn't based off of one throw that he critiqued

Basketball has always been fast...it was the big men who casued it to intentionally slow down I think. But i liked that about it.
I think soooo much focus has been put on drawing fouls in the league to be honest. Hence alot of the "leading scorers"(i use that term loosely *cough* lebron, kobe*) score like half their points at the FT line. **** that...doesnt make you good. Now if a center gets fouled and scores his points at the line, that I can handle! lol
Tall = you suck now though.

    **** i miss 90s NBA so much!!!

coincidence that 4 of the 10 Centers on the 1996 "NBA TOP 50" list...were all from the 90s, while the list was in the 90s? lol
    Hakeem
    Shaq
    David Robinson
    Ewing

and actually 10 of the 50 players on the list played in the 90s....and about 6-7 more of them were 80s players who played a bit in the 90s also.
