at minimum, what this does is gives all other teams the chance to make offers. REAL offers. not completely lopsided ones.

EVERYONE knows that the money saved in this deal was just going to be to make a run at Howard and drop Bynum in on the deal. So nobody would need Odom and Pau....it's such a win for Lakers even if they didnt get Howard....</P>

Not a chance dude....not a ****ing chance. CP3 makes Bynum THAT much more valuable, and makes Kobe THAT much bigger of a threat. Lakers have never had a PG...and this takes soooooo much pressure off the 2guard when you have someone like Paul.
Instant Finals favorites. THAT'S why Lando is mad.
The lakers dont need a PF/SF like Pau and Odom if they have paul. They can plug in those spots with good options, or ****, even defensive specialists, and be amazing. It's THAT kind of team with a good center, and 2 elite guards.</P>

its a push on Bynum. First off, the guy is never healthy. He may be the most overrated player in the NBA. We'll see how much more value it gives him when hes there now that actually centers can play him not Gasol. He won't just be the left over guy now.

CHRIS PAUL IS A KNICK NEXT YEAR - NO MATTER WHERE HE GOES.

Whose the Lakers starting lineup now? Whose their bench? Not to mention CP3 is a china doll too.

Who gives a **** if it helps them?! Thats what a trade is SUPPOSE to do. If the Rockets and Hornets were getting screwed over in the process, i'd agree with you but bottom line EVERY team gets better. This would be horse**** if roles were reversed and the Hornets get Kobe to add wtih CP.

Bottom line Kevin Martin is a pretty legit player who averages in the 20s, Scola is a servicable big man, and Odom may of been the MVP of the Lakers. Rockets get Gasol which is a top tier talent and I don't get why everybody is forgetting that. The Hornets are getting something out of the impending doom that will come to their franchise.

EVerybody wins. Saying that because the Lakers are doing good things with their tema it shouldn't be allowed is stupid. Its a fair deal bottom line. You can't say its unfair or corrupt. Its completely fair and it will go through at the end of the day

You realize Howard is a FREE AGENT next year so if he doesn't extend somewhere HE WILL SIGN WHERE HE WANTS.
