every time Eli's been in trouble the talk radio around here that I listens to bring up "Tim Hasselbeck" Eli's backup "A Guy who knows Eli well cause he was in the locker room with him"

that's how they intro him, then they go and ask him all the normal questions they ask when Eli was struggling (hopefully the media will be passed that now) and Hasselbeck would always support the claims..

they'd ask if he's a leader so Hasselbeck would say no, they'd ask if he was scared or skittish hasselbeck would say yes.

Tiki got the bigger brunt of the hate but I've heard hasselbeck more then tiki discredit and crap on Eli...he does it every chance he gets....probably not anymore cause it's impossible at this point...but even mid season last season he was getting in on it.

Completely disagree Kase. Smith went to the only team dumb enough to pay him $4MM. And given his health, he was smart to do so. It could very well be that his career is over.</P>


The reasons the Eagles were willing to pay SS that much can be debated, but Smith did the right thing.</P>

The right thing would of been to let the giants counter offer. wouldnt of been 4 mill but it would of giving him time to recoup and be the baller he once was, which would lead to a nice payday. And not to mention, he looked at the Gaints offered, then saw eagles offere more, and probably knew we wouldnt give him any more than philly did.
I'm tired of this debate....he made the right decision, and he woulda ended up being a 3 million dollar mistake on our bench this past season. </P>
