"Give a man a fish and he won't starve for a day. Teach a man how to fish and he won't starve for his entire life."

the problem with our current social welfare systems is they force the poor to become dependent on them, the government gives them fish everyday for dinner....

If the government instead concentrated on teaching them how to fish (aka become productive members of society) it would in the end be more cost effective, it would work better for all involved, the reason they don't do it? the poor vote goes to democrats, it ALWAYS does, because they have convinced the poor that the republicans don't care about them and will take away their fish......but if the democrates really cared, they would be teaching the poor how to fish so that regardless of who was in power....they wouldn't have to worry about where the food was coming from...

Ok, let's put your theory to the test then shall we? So why do you put genuinely angry in quotations, are you saying that nobody can or is allowed to be genuinely angry anymore, because you think they'll just be pretending to join the fad or theyre trying to be 'cool'

Better that people think its 'cool' and bring attention to the issue rather than ignoring it completely, yes it may be disingenuous but at least its bringing attention to the light

Well you are not taking into consideration all the socio-economic reasons that African Americans are far more likely to grow up in poverty, far more likely to come from poor homes. Then combine that will the social pressures depicted in the modern media, the poor "leaders" who are more apologists than anything else, and then add the horrific racial inequality in the judicial system.

Then add about 1000 other factors that lead to the statistics you are citing. The level of pigment in their skin, or their geneological heritage have NOTHING to do with it.

if I could be born tom as black or white and live the same type of life i have?

I think that balances out for the newer generations there pappy - not as one sided as you think it is
Given the same socio-economic class and living in the same neighborhood, I think that people of color still face more obstacles and entrenched biases than people of lighter pigmentation

But you are right, today its MUCH more balanced than at any point in history.... At least in the Tri-State Area

well thats kinda racist in itself that you seem to think its only black people doing it.

MAybe around here, but there are plenty of white people like that too.

And while there are bottom feeders (always will and always have) most are people that actually aren't doing it to just abuse the system and get a free ride. Thats another political agenda of news reporting
Depends which side of the bi-partisanship you're getting your news from and how many people you personally know that have/or are currently receiving Govt assistance
the point is that i know PLENTY of white americans from jersey that have had to rely on government assistance for a while. There are people that abuse the system, but it happens every where for all races.

Its just a ploy by republicans to suggest that all of this money is just goign to free loaders and thats not the case. Its funny because they speak out of both sides of their mouths - the complain about unemployment and how people can't get jobs but then turn around and blast for government assistance and say people are just lazy
did you take this side of the argument for Timothy McVeigh? For OJ?
Yes and Yes, I actually DID with OJ, I mean I think I was naive at the time, but my Jr Highschool had a walk out during the OJ Trial and I was part of it, also don't forget the Casey Anthony case...I think I've been pretty consistent on wanting the courts to decide before jumping to conclusions based on media reports.
I mean come on man... this guy shot a kid in cold blood. He had NOTHING on him and this guy isn't even suppose to have a weapon on him.

I would considered you probably the lease balanced out of everybody in here when it comes to these debates.
you don't know what happened matt..neither does the media...they are reporting on it in such a way that drives their ratings that's all it is and you know it....and it's dangerous.

right now I'm thinking Kase is the least balanced....but this is the problem

    (----------------------------Me------(balance)------------------------Society----You------)

that's the way I see it matt...I think I am pretty neutral...i just think our whole society is ****ed up at the moment, you guys are slightly worse then the average but are closer to societies norms....so of course "you" think you are closer to normal....but that's because normal is ****ed up right now.

I get you, but its the typical talk out of both sides of your mouth. The jobs aren't here. Like i've said a million times i know plenty of good people with college educations that can't get a ****in job and need assistance. You kill obama for unemployment but then come back with this response about government assistance.

Theres not enough room on the fishing boats right now for everybody to go fish.

There is a MAJOR issue with education, but it starts at the very top. **** man college is a business nowadays, not a learning institute. Its one of the biggets scams in our nation at the moment imo. Bottom line is there aren't enough jobs for everybody today out here. And the percentage of those "stealing" from the government is HIGHLY over hyped by the Left.
