    Just another way to stretch the NFL and make it a year round sport IMO.

    this...kind of whack though, I like getting into b-ball, baseball and soccer, yes soccer seasonally.

    (probably the minority on this though)

    I think it's a good idea as the draft represents the beginning of a new NFL year. Currently it feels like it's at the back end of the previous season.

    You can be sure the free agent players and their agents would love an earlier start to their $$ contract hunting. The earlier start date also puts just a little bit of pressure on teams in terms of negotations to keep their own wanted players from becoming free agents at the end of the season with the realization that it gets tougher when you have like 10-20 players on the team that will become free agents.
