Is there any way that Locklear is even ready for the start of next season? Seems real risky to put our eggs in that basket.

Yeah, but that's a small detail.
What's far more significant, in my view, is that for a Giants scout to --allegedly--give voice in the vicinity of anyone in the media to a preference for any player scouted is a violation of Articles 1, 2, and 3 of Jerry Reese's Credo for all player personnel decisions: never, ever, give away any player preferences before the actual moment of announcement.
Because of that, this article is 100% suspect.
If they cant resign Beatty, Johnson may be exactly where they go.
If Beatty is still here, I am not positive they need another LT prospect, unless they want to move Beatty to RT?
id be pretty stoked with him. he looks like he could be an awesome RT. he looked real good in the run game and looked to have good footwork in pass protection with good use of his hands. only thing is i dunno how anchored he is, looks like he could get pushed back some so maybe needs to bulk up. doesnt look like hes filled out his frame by any means...
id preferably, bc we need a RT remember not the coveted LT (u can get quality RT's later on bc its almost a knock on a guy if he cant be a LT meaning if there was some excellent RT who didnt possess whatever tangible needed to move to LT, his draft stock wouldnt be that high) I would trade my pick at 19 for an early 2nd round pick n 3rd round pick. from there, I draft at least 1 OL and 1 DL or 2 OL/2DL in the 2nd based on whose available at our pick. Then in the 3rd, I'd finish ensuring I got 2 quality OL and 2 quality d players (a DE and a LB for example). JR should be able to find a starting caliber G in rd 2 as well (Snee was a 2nd rd pick)
I guess in a much simpler way of explaining, I'd trade the 19th pick to get an additional 2nd and 3rd round pick, then use the 2nd and 3rd rounds to ensure I got 2 quality OL and 2 quality d players, 1 of which is a DE who at minimum is a freak at rushing the passer. the DE imo just needs to be a pass rush specialist really, we have the DEs to play the run in JPP, Tuck n Kiwi. We need that freak pass rusher to help JPP and Co. face less attention from the offense.
^^ that's a big boy
