Feels like we're always struggling on short yardage, our OL aren't the biggest dudes.

Got to be less predictable or be more varied with the plays and mix it up. Can't always feed it to the RB up the middle on 3rd and short. A little QB sneak, FB run, short pass to single coverage, or fake run-optional bootleg-go deep to Bennett or Cruz every now and then, should at least keep any defense honest. I'm sure other people here can come up with more plays.

Even in that 49er play, the Falcons safety has to respect the pass play to the TE and play back a bit, which allowed the RB to get the yards needed before being tackled. 49ers could also have faked the run and Kaepernick could have bootlegged to left side, avoid one DE, and probably run it uncontested.
