Thread: Does Michael Strahan get the

This is nonsense, he bacame a household name because of the salsa and winning the SB. If he "salsa danced" his way to the SB with another team, he would be just as famous and have just as many commercials. I hope he stays but it would be foolish to take less money now, to stay here, in hopes of the "unknown" possibility to earn whatever later. The Strahan thing is a silly comparison. How many football players have ever gotten a job like that. It one in a million.

This "media market" thing is just a way for fans to convince themselves that Cruz should stay here for less money. It ain't gonna happen.

It didn't take him long at all. And the NY market is not why Cruz did it do fast.

Strahan has always been gregarious and outgoing and was always a good interview. That earned him a seat on the Fox pregame, and a short-lived sitcom. He guest-hosted when they kicked out Regis and response was positive.

I'm not so sure simply being from NY had all that much to do with it.
True, but negative attention is still better than no attention. If you want to get noticed, you go to a big market. I don't htink it's NY per se, but just a big market city.

The most lucrative post NFL job is to be sitting at the desk on Sunday mornings on Fox or CBS. And for that you need to be a successful player and to have personality. He doesn't need NY for that.

He won't need broadcasting in all likelihood

What other Giants have benefited from playing in NY? Other than Strahan, who got a gig that no other football player has ever gotten.
