Realistically, how much could we have Webster restructure to?

I'd imagine the Giants are trying to force his hand to have him restructure or they're going to cut him.

funny thing is out of that list how many of those guys if FA now would command money close to that- only nicks and JPP would get more and Eli we cant count bc he restructured last year to help us and he gets what he deserves, hes the reason we have the last two rings

B. Tell him to take less money or he will be released
C. Extend him and spread his cap hit over the next couple years

Well, $2,595,000 of that is going to hit regardless of what happens. So you're starting at 7mil of his base which you get all of that back if released. Can't tell you how much of that they're trying to shed, but if I had to guess based on low end starting CB salaries, they may be trying to chop 3-4mil off that base. I think Webster can earn $3mil in FA.

Sorry didn't mean to say restructure. Even if he weren't in his final year that's not the type of player you restructure when there are questions of declining.

He isnt. He is getting paid roughly 7,250,000.

The 10 mil number includes his $2,595,000 prorated signing bonus that the giants are on the hook for no matter what.

Yup, I'm hoping we can get that number down to around 3.4 million instead of $2,595,000 dead money.
