and iirc, peyton manning makes like 22 mil a year as well but perhaps the length of his contract is why the numbers are a bit higher. the numbers fall the longer the contract, and seeing as peyton got a 3 yr deal or 4 yr deal iirc, paying him over 20 mil per year is a lot different than where the contract like 7 yrs...

He didn't take a pay cut and his salary this hasn't increased. They transferred $9m of his base salary last year into a signing bonus so it could be prorated over the remaining years of his contract. His cap hit increased this year because of it, not his salary.

Sorry guys but you can't tie up $20 million for a year in one player, I don't care if he is the quarterback. It just hamstrings you when trying to address competitive balance at other positions. I would rather have an 8-10 Million Dollar QB and use the rest of the money to address defensive issues.
