Honestly, the Giants need a long term answer at MLB, and Keith Rivers is not that answer. The pass coverage over the middle is just awful, and once coaches started exploiting it, the defense looked terrible.

As far as bringing Rivers in, Id rather just keep Chase, Ive seen Chase make a lot more plays, and no one has more heart. Just wish the dude could actually defend soemone in pass coverage.

I have a big feeling that Blackburn will still be on the team in 2013, either playing and/or mentoring whatever rookie we may have in the position...

Chase is awful. I hate hearing about "heart". So what!? That's what our linebacking core has become. I like guys that are good not guys who are terrible but play with "heart".

Not settling, just adding depth. Can't go into the season with Paysinger, J Will, and Herzlich as your only guys. Giants usually take at least 7 LBs into the season.

They need both. LBs are usually your best ST players too.

Giants aren't going to add 5 linebackers in the draft. So they need to add a couple in FA. And rivers is one of the best available for little money.

I actually like Rivers and feel he is just having bad luck with his injuries because I don't believe that a player can be injury prone its all bad luck. So if Rivers can ever get a break and stay healthy I think he can definitely be a starter

I hear ya, Chase is awful in pass coverage, but he does his job against the run. And like it or not, hes the best guy we have. But I agree with you, we need an upgrade, bigtime, but Keith Rivers is not that answwer. Making a small trade up for Ogletree would make me one happy fan.
