All the Sports Teams (excluding the Yankees) are CASH STRAPPED? Seems every year we fans expect a winner yet year in and year out the Mets, Knicks, Giants, Rangers, Nets, jets, Islanders and even Devils to an extent can't field a winner cause they are ALWAYS strapped for cash and in CAP H3LL. I for one am getting Tired of it... Seems even when these teams make splashes for big name players either by a FA signing or Trade it almost always seems to backfire..those players were Stars prior to coming to NY then become Invisible while here and then become Stars again when they leave..

I realize Mets owner lost all that money investing with that crook. With Caps you can only do so much but look at Yankees. Bad ownership also doesn't help

Flops would be bobby Bonilla, Carlos Beltran, Carlos Delgado and Jason Bey to name a few that did well elsewhere but not so mush with Mets. Some did great before and after the Mets...


Put some Knicks names on list like Stephon Marbery... List some Rangers, Nets, Giants...etc

Lol... Mets, jets nets.. Haha.. Not a fan of Nets or Jets, but did follow Mets only because my dad was a NY Giants baseball fan and when they left with dodgers to go West he took on the new franchise as his team in the 60s. Will always love the Yankees. My wife is a huge Yankees fan and has ties to the team from years back. But still have place in my heart for mets and they make me sick yr in and yr out. Knicks as well. So tired of waiting for another championship when teams fans from Chicago, LA and Boston have that string of Championships you envy,, kinda like when u see that old friend at the mall that you haven't seen in awhile and he takes out his wallet that unrolls to reveal all the pics of the tons of grand kids he has and you have none yet or just one or two.. GET IT? Lol

Some teams are just way better managed, staffed, and operated than others. That's a fact of sports. Yankees - 27 World Series titles. Dominating. Giants - 2 SBs within the last 5 years. Great, although we would like to have more.

It's hard to compare to dynasty teams like the basketball teams you mentioned because those were great teams that maintained their core players thoroughout those years with great coaches, plus also having that once-in-a-generation talent. That's nearly impossible these days with the modern free agency, team hopping, and impatient coach firing and swapping that goes on.

thats true and I did mention it in another thread. Same thing holds true in other sports like baseball and football. Like you said even in those sports teams kept their players long term which created Dynasty's. you don't get that in today's NBA, NFL or MLB. Soon as a team wins a title a few days later star players that are FAs are thinking huge payday and will go to highest bidder.

You also had players that loved playing for their respective teams and truly HATED THEIR RIVALS. They wouldn't think of playing for another team in their wildest dreams. It's was kinda like a family. They stayed together till they retired. Not so today, a star player on Philly would play for the giant or vice versa if the money was right. They are nothing more then up hired hands for their term of the contract then they move on

the only new york team thats ever had great ownership throughout the years really has been the giants with the maras. i wouldnt even say the yankees that much cause steinbrenner would make alot of silly decisions. too many bad contracts for guys who were supposed to be superstars that never really lived up to the hype. the mets, jets, islanders, rangers, knicks ownership has pretty much always been a joke.

Teams themselves will up-and-move if the money isn't right. It's just the nature of modern day, professional sport. They're less teams than they are marketing vehicles.
