I think he would try everything in his power to keep players like them because it will make life a lot easier and Aid in winner another Title Sooner rather then Later. So with that I am going to agree that Cruz will be here 2013 and beyond. I am hoping they can work something out behind closed doors to keep him here for a long long time. same goes for Niciks
    Wouldn't say never.

It's very unlikely any team will give up a first for Cruz.

well if you are referring to the guys on the roster right now that we feel are WAY OVERPAID for their production level, then fine. But when we inked them KP, CWEB< DD among others at the time we thought they were good deals due to what they were doing for us at the time. however sometimes as time passes with injury and age, what once looked like a GREAT DEAL turns out to be a CAP Nightmare.
Football has been very, very good to us.
Even though 2013 was a losing season, we can console ourselves with this fact-

    # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
2-Washington, Green Bay, Denver, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
    3-San Francisco, Dallas, New England
    4-New York Giants!!!!!

    Let's make it 5 in 2014 !!!

If Cruz were to leave, we get a second 1st round pick this year in return... That gives a LOT of flexibility in the draft to move around or just pick two guys in the first round. The new CBA makes that realistic and it wouldn't be too tough on the wallet. I'm not too worried, this draft is pretty good with wide outs too.

Don't get me wrong, I love Cruz and want him to stay, buy my loyalty is to the Giants first.

I have a feeling that if Cruz gets a long term deal from the Giants it will be next off-season. Letting Cruz play this season under his tender would give the Giants much more flexibility cap wise.
