    If Cruz were to leave

Where is Steve Smith now? Don't get me wrong, I don't think for one second Cruz is going anyplace, but if it did happen, just thinking about possible replacements.

Jerrel Jernigan...the guy who was originally drafted to fill SS12's role in the slot.

SS's knee is shot. Don't think he'd be the same player he was.

Jernigan would play the position. The actual production slack would be picked up by Nicks, Randle, and Wilson...

The fact that the team was using Jernigan in 4WR singleback double flex formation a lot towards the end of the season tells me the team was trying him out to possible be our starting slot receiver next season in case we lose Cruz. New England and SF are two teams that could try to claim him off waivers... Cruz would spell a departed Welker quite effectively, and SF has a metric asston of picks to throw our way, while their best wideout is Manningham (who coincidentally as we all know worked with Cruz before)

Wouldn't mind a team with high cap space that is drafting mid level giving up their first round pick to us
Football has been very, very good to us.
Even though 2013 was a losing season, we can console ourselves with this fact-

    # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
2-Washington, Green Bay, Denver, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
    3-San Francisco, Dallas, New England
    4-New York Giants!!!!!

    Let's make it 5 in 2014 !!!

Cruz will most likely be here this year or else we'll have another first round pick. Steve Smith is out of the question. We need to move forward and Smith has not shown anything since he left the Giants, whose medical staff said he wasn't ready. I think if for some reason Cruz is gone, holds out, etc. the Giants have enough confidence in one of their youngsters to replace him. They might not get the same production but they will probably have enough to take pressure off Nicks to be effective.

Steve Smith is no longer Steve Smith. Cruz is playing here in 2013.
