Hixon old(28 turning 29). We go younger and faster with Murphy(25)

Me, too. I liked how hard Tynes worked in the off season to strengthen his leg. He kicked 5 yds further than he did when he first came here.
Hixon was the only one on the team that I felt comfortable when he was receiving punts.
He was a reliable receiver when called upon... knew the offense. That's why he got his share of time when Manningham was here... Manningham wasn't reliable because he didn't understand all of the offense, especially audibles from Eli. Hixon could be relied upon to be where he was expected to be.
He made many tough catches in our 2007 run. Ya' hardly noticed with Nicks and Cruz and Manningham playing so great.
    Played with heart.
That;s all you can ask for.

I agree, and feel the same way about him.

Not having gone through it myself, I can't adequately imagine what perseverance, patience, and inner strength it took to completely recover from his knee, only to suffer the same injury right at the beginning of the following year.

Actually knowing--from his experience of the first injury--what it would take to completely recover again might have made the second rehab even harder, mentally. How do you not get discouraged, at some point?

Then, to have him finally return after 2 and a half years out of football and have a season tied for the best of his career as a receiver......pretty awesome.

IMO 3-4 more should have been gone this year
Football has been very, very good to us.
Even though 2013 was a losing season, we can console ourselves with this fact-

    # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
2-Washington, Green Bay, Denver, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
    3-San Francisco, Dallas, New England
    4-New York Giants!!!!!

    Let's make it 5 in 2014 !!!
